You can start helping the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation today by becoming a member or making a donation. As a member or donor, you will play a critical role in the success of our restoration, research and education programs.
How the Funds will be Utilized
The Foundation’s ultimate goal is to take what is now a very compromised ecosystem and restore it to the healthy, biologically diverse system it once was. That means:
- We plant thousands of trees each year to restore lost animal habitat and provide food for the Laguna’s animals.
- We perform the scientific research required to inform our restoration activities.
- We study and, if possible, eradicate invasive non-native species threatening the Laguna.
- We monitor water quality to ensure it is healthy for humans, plants and animals.
- We are analyzing the potential effects of global warming on the Laguna to determine how we need to adapt as ecosystem stewards.
On top of all that, we have an education program that takes hundreds of children into the Laguna each year in an effort to inspire them to share the organization’s dedication to the Laguna and environmental stewardship.
